Ed has served as the Director / Developer for Mahaffey Camp and Conference Center since 2001. Having a dedication to the camp ministries and the vision for its year-round expansion, Ed began serving as a member of the Board of Directors in 1993. During Ed’s tenure as Director / Developer, the expansion of camp ministries has multiplied with facility upgrades including the Dorm 5 renovation, the building of the soccer field/recreation area, the sewage project completion, expansion of the RV areas and three new restroom complexes. Along with the facility upgrades, the camp programming has expanded to include multiple weeks of Youth Camps and retreats spanning eleven months of the year. Ed relates that one of the greatest joys in camp ministry is witnessing campers maturing in their walk of faith and being trained as leaders for the next generation. Camp sponsored mission trips have enabled Ed to lead more than 250 teens and adults on weeklong trips to spread the gospel.
