April 17, 2026 FAMILY FRIDAY!

Registration: 9:30 am – 10:00 am
Event Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Mahaffey Camp Children’s Ministry Building
Registration Deadline: Tuesday, April 14th
Topic: “The Liberty Bell: A Crack for Freedom”
Description: In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, come explore the significance of one of our Nation’s most prominent, yet possibly forgotten, symbols – the Liberty Bell. Learn about the bell’s purpose, iconic crack (Myth or fact? You decide!), and inscription. Discover when and why the bell was rung over the years, along with a reading of an 1847 fictional story about the bell, “Ring, Grandfather, Ring,” that created a resurgence of the bell’s familiarity and importance. Complete the lesson with the children, creating their own patriotic bell through the colonial art form of paper quilling.
Lessons and interactive activities are provided for students in grades K-12. A Preschool Corner is offered for kids ages 2 & up.
At least one parent per household group must be on-site with their students at all times and is expected to help guide their students’ learning experience. For those with K-12 students in addition to preschoolers, your preschool students (ages 2-5) may be dropped off and picked up at the conclusion of the event while you attend the event with your older kids.
All students ages 2 through grade 12 must register to participate. Cost is $8/student or $30/family.
Families are welcome to pack a lunch and stick around afterward to enjoy our playground, Obstacle Course, and Creation Center!
