Theme: Alive in Christ – John 10:10

Featured Speaker: Pastor Joe Gerhart
Pastor Joe Gerhart serves as the pastor of Community Alliance Church in Karthaus, Pennsylvania. A native of Potter County, Joe has a deep love for the people and communities of rural Pennsylvania.
Joe’s journey with Christ began during his junior and senior years of high school as he searched for hope and purpose following the tragic loss of two classmates to suicide. It was during that season that the Lord drew him to Himself and began shaping a call to ministry.
Joe met his wife, Amy, while they were students at Mansfield University. As the Lord grew their relationship, He also began preparing them for ministry, giving them opportunities to help start a church plant on campus. They were married in 2008 and have been serving together ever since.
In 2012, Joe survived a workplace explosion that left him with severe burns and marked a turning point in his life and ministry. Through that difficult season, the Lord deepened his dependence on Christ, strengthened his calling, and continued preparing him to shepherd others with the hope of the gospel.
After years of being discipled and equipped through Coudersport Alliance Church, the Gerharts were sent to help plant FlightPath Fellowship in Erie, where they served for six years. In September 2023, God led them back to rural Pennsylvania to pastor Community Alliance Church in Karthaus, where they continue serving their church and surrounding community.
Joe and Amy are passionate about helping people come to know Jesus Christ and encouraging believers to grow deeper in their walk with Him. They have two daughters, Elizabeth and Bailey, who faithfully serve alongside them in ministry. When they’re not serving at church, the Gerharts enjoy spending time together outdoors—hiking, camping, kayaking, hunting, fishing, and working around their small farm. Joe also enjoys exploring God’s creation through the lens of a camera, seeing wildlife photography as another way to bear witness to the beauty, creativity, and glory of God’s handiwork. Whether behind the pulpit or behind the camera, his greatest desire is to faithfully open God’s Word, point people to Jesus Christ, and encourage believers to walk daily in the power of the Holy Spirit.
